The birth of Berry Bright

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m a Mum of four (14,12,9,6 years) and homeschooler of over six years.

After five plus years of finding myself altruistically guiding families through the intricacies of homeschool registration and planning (always learning more along the way!) I found Berry Bright evolving almost completely organically.

As I went from mentoring friends, to friends-of-friends (and then even friends-of-friends-of-friends!), I found myself busily helping someone plan almost all of the time, just through word-of-mouth.

It was during this time that I met a new friend of mine, a doula and kindred spirit who really made my work feel recognised as she started calling me her "homeschool doula”.

Her simple acknowledgment that what I do is an “exchange” sparked something within me, and so, Berry Bright was born.

My aim is to empower parents with the tools, resources, and emotional support needed to navigate their homeschooling journey confidently, from the early days when they’re dealing with Initial Applications, right through to re-registration and reporting.
